Sidhu Moosewala tragically lost his life on May 29, 2022. The responsibility for his murder was claimed by Satwinder Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, who is associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Moosewala suffered 19 bullet injuries and died within 15 minutes, as per the post-mortem report, which cited “haemorrhage shock” due to the gunshot wounds as the cause of death.
In the 2022 Punjab Assembly Elections, Sidhu Moosewala contested from Mansa on a Congress ticket but was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party’s Dr. Vijay Singla. He had joined the Congress party in December 2021.
